The brief
Over two thousand SKUs in KIS, most of them the same product in a different grit or diameter. The customer needed to see three hundred products and pick an option in each with one click, while the ERP keeps working with its own codes and the existing item import from KIS stays untouched. On top of that, cards alongside cash on delivery, Croatian invoicing and a catalogue for customers from Italy, Germany and Slovenia.
How we solved it
SKUs from KIS are grouped into one product by a rule we worked out with the people who sell, and the customer picks grit or diameter by clicking a chip instead of a dropdown. The system takes the exact SKU in the background, so the order goes back into KIS the way the accounts expect it. The existing KIS import was left alone: our layer hooks onto it and the grouping survives every sync. We added cards alongside cash on delivery, Croatian invoicing, fiscalization and a catalogue in five languages, and eleven international brands got their wall on the homepage.

What we would tell you before you start
- How to group variants is a business decision. Make it with someone who sells, not with a programmer.
- If a third-party program already imports items from your ERP, do not let anyone replace it. Working beside it is cheaper.
- Five languages only make sense if someone maintains the descriptions. Otherwise two are enough.
