A logo doormat designer where the customer sees exactly what goes to production
- Industry
- Personalised logo doormats
- Location
- Solin, Croatia
- Type
- Configurator and webshop, prices from KISERP
- Duration
- 2 weeks to production
The brief
A logo doormat is made to a drawing in production, so until now a customer had nowhere to see how their logo would look on the fibre before ordering. They needed a designer where they see it straight away, with the real factory colours and sizes, and an order from which production can start without a single further question.
How we solved it
A designer in the browser where the customer uploads a logo or adds text onto a canvas at real scale, in millimetres, with a marked safe zone that edge finishing may trim. Logo colours are mapped automatically to the 79 factory yarn shades, because the colour is woven into the fibre rather than printed on top, so the palette shows real photographs of the pile, not flat swatches. Three models, stock sizes or by the square metre, landscape or portrait. The price comes from KISERP through the wholesale webshop, so it is never retyped. Business customers log in with the same credentials as on the wholesale portal. After an order the system assembles a production job sheet with every field, in the same order and with the same colour names production uses, plus a browser add-on that transcribes it by itself. The admin sees designs, orders and jobs, and every change leaves a record with a name.
Numbers from the project
If you need something similar
- Timeline for a similar scope
- 3 to 6 weeks
The same system works for print shops, T-shirts, packaging, signage and any print-on-demand business: a designer in the browser, prices from your ERP or price list, an admin with jobs and a production job sheet.
The price is set by your specific requirements. The real price is defined after a conversation and the technical documentation of the project, before you pay anything.
What the client had to prepare
- The material catalogue and palette, here extracted from sample photographs
- ERP item codes for every size and model
- Logo, colours and the rule for who may order at wholesale prices
- One trial order all the way to production
Technology
- Next.js
- React
- TypeScript
- Tailwind CSS
- Fabric.js
- SQLite
- KISERP
What is built in
- A canvas at real scale: what the customer sees on screen is what goes to production, with a safe zone for edge finishing.
- Colours are compared with the CIEDE2000 formula, so every shade in the logo is replaced by the nearest factory one and the customer is told which are too close.
- The price is neither computed nor copied; it comes from the ERP by item code. If the ERP does not answer, it says on request.
- Uploaded logos are stripped of scripts and never served directly.
- Separate checkout for private and business customers, with login through the wholesale portal.
- Every change in the admin leaves a record with the person's name.
What we would tell you before you start
- When production works from a drawing, the best integration is a job sheet someone can transcribe without questions. It is cheaper than an API and works from day one.
- Colours on screen and on material are never the same. Show real photographs of the material, not flat swatches, and tell the customer.
- A price needs one source. The moment it is copied into another system, one day it shows an old amount.
