Price list file naming: what the rules require and what is left to you

Point VI requires the file name to contain the outlet type, its address, its designation, a storage number and a timestamp with date and time.

That is the whole requirement. No order, no separator, no example. A file called cjenik.csv does not qualify, but beyond that the space is wide.

This is where most of the confusion comes from, so it is worth listing explicitly. The decision does NOT prescribe:

Of all the elements, the storage number is the only one with no definition anywhere. The profession openly calls it unclear.

One reasonable reading suggests itself: a sequential number of the stored publication, which increments and never repeats.

More important than which reading you pick is that you write it down. When someone asks, the answer must already exist.

The wording was written with a shop in mind, leaving webshops without an obvious answer. A reasonable filling looks like this:

Joining the elements with underscores and replacing spaces and diacritics inside each element with hyphens gives a name that contains everything required and is readable.

Alongside the prescribed file it makes sense to keep one without a timestamp at a permanent address.

Product lists update daily by eight in the morning; service lists update on every change. That difference is easy to miss.

Every publication must remain available for thirty days, so an archive must be kept.
